Leishmania genotyping is a European project of the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Commission Community Research, within the Thematic Programme : Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources. The main objective of this project is to develop reliable, rapid and simple molecular typing methods for leishmaniasis in Europe and evaluate their suitability for both clinical and epidemiological typing. An internet accessible database is in development for dissemination and management of generated typing data. The project is a
four year project, which started 1st September 2001 and it includes
8 participants from 8 European countries. |
